Baby Travel Guide & Checklist
Traveling can be a very stressful occasion when it comes to packing and getting ready. If you are planning to leave your baby home and check him/her using a camera, can be a little less stressful because you don’t have to take care of what you need for your kid, but your little one is very precious for you and you can’t leave him/her behind. So, you decide to take him/her with you.
There are a lot of things you need to pack before you leave and with a little child, the stress is even higher. You have to be sure that you take everything you need, so the he or she can be safe and comfortable because travel with a cranky baby can be annoying and no fun at all.
For these reasons, a lot of parents avoid traveling when their kid is young and wait until he/she gets older.
To avoid this and to have a comfortable trip for yourself, I am going to write a travel guide when traveling with babies.
Useful Baby Travel Guide
Down below you can find a checklist of items you need if you think of going on a trip with your little kid.
The checklist is divided into three sections; Gear, Feeding & Clothing.
Car Seat – Probably, one of the most important gear if you are going on a road trip. Even if you are traveling by plane, still it is very useful because you can hold your kid all the time.
Stroller – There are a lot of models who fold down and compact, making them easy to store and use. A stroller is very useful if you plan to do a lot of walking.
Sleep – You might consider buying a travel crib. You have to be very careful where you put your kid to sleep. It is not safe to sleep in the same bed with your little child.
First Aid Kit – Another thing you should consider is a first aid kit. A first aid kit is a very important gear that every traveler should have, especially parents. Before you leave, make sure to check the first aid kit and everything are there.
Breastfeeding Supplies – If you are still breastfeeding, then you should buy a shawl with you to provide privacy if there are some people around you. Also, you can buy a breast pump, which is very useful way to feed your kid without worrying about your privacy.
Bottled Milk – If you are going for a trip, you might bring bottled milk. If your child is on formula, don’t forget to bring enough to last for all the trip duration.
Food – If you are heading out for a multi-day trip, then you should bring extra food.
Feeding Equipment – You will need feeding equipment like bibs, spoons, and wipes.
Diapers – Probably the second most important thing for trip. Make sure to bring lots along, so you don’t run out of them.
Extra Clothes – Make sure to take some extra clothes with you. If the weather turn nasty before you even knowing, you need to be prepared for it. Be sure to bring extra clothes because even if the weather is fine, babies spill juice or food on their clothes a lot.
Hats – If you are going to a sunny place, a hat is a good accessory to have. It protects the babies neck and face from the sun.
This is just a small list of the most necessary items you will need if you are planning to do a trip with your little kid.
Be sure to add any other item you may need.
